Bernadette Pretty Young Man

It is with heavy hearts we give up our gentle spirit to join her ancestors on Sunday June 26, 2022. Bernie passed away peacefully with her family beside her, to send her on her way. She was born on October 27, 1967 at Siksika Hospital. Bernie led a quiet content simple life by living “One Day at a time”. She leaves to mourn her loving devoted parents Leo/Maureena Pretty Young Man. Siblings; Eleanor (Steven) Solway, Howard (Marsha) Pretty Young Man, Rodney (Merisha) Scalplock, Andrew Pretty Young Man, Darren (Allison) High Eagle. Uncles and Aunties; Deanna (Bruce) Starlight, Rufus (Yvonne) Pretty Young Man, Debbie (Dwight) Smith, Louise (Jason) Doore, Irvine (Sandra) Scalplock), Larry Scalplock, Anthony Scalplock, Angie (Delmar) Holloway, Cynthia Scalplock, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended families. She was predeceased by her grandparents Leo/Alma Pretty Young Man, Anthony/Teresa Scalplock, brother Darren and special nephew Riel Solway.  Bernie is also survived by her extended families Pretty Young Man, Scalplock, Crow Chief, Sleigh, Many Guns, Red Guns, Yellowhorse, Leather, Medicine Shield, Weasel Head, Bull Bear, Duck Chief, Bear Robe. The family would like to apologize if we left anyone out. Bernie had a large Family. The family would like to thank the staff at Peter Lougheed Hospital for their compassion in caring for Bernie. The numerous health care nurses and staff who helped along the way to give Bernie the quality of life she lived. Despite being, sidelined by a debilitating accident that left her with mobility issues, she cruised thru life as flamboyant as possible. Cowboy boots and fringed leather jacket blowing in the wind, going 100 mph on her scooter. Wake service to be held at Siksika Arbor on Friday, July 1, 2022: 3pm to 12 am. FEAST served at 6 pm. Church service at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Saturday, July 2, 2022: 12 pm. Interment at Little Washington Cemetery.
