Angleia "Angela" ManyBears Obituary

Angleia "Angela" ManyBears    Natoyitapiaakii-Holy Woman

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Angela Many Bears at the tender age of 68 years. Angela was born on November 25, 1955 at the Blackfoot Hospital in Siksika Nation, Alberta, and passed away on February 1, 2024, at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. Our beloved Angela was a mother, sister, grandmother, niece, aunt, cousin, aunty-mom to her immediate nieces and nephews, and a friend to many.

Words cannot express how deeply saddened we are by the passing of our beloved Angela.

Angela was kind, generous, witty, and very knowledgeable in the Blackfoot culture and fluent in the Blackfoot language. When Angela had free time from her busy schedule, she loved to spend quality time with her family, and she loved to laugh and boss her younger cousins around, we didn't mind though, as she was our big sister. Angela always expressed her love & thoughts to her grandchildren & great-grandchildren; she cherished all of them.

Our beloved Angela was a survivor of Indian Residential School and of the 60s Scoop era where she lived with  Mormons in her younger days. Angela resided in numerous places within Alberta, from living in Rainbow Lake to Fort McLeod, and finally settling down in her homeland of Siksika Nation. She was a Jack of all trades, she always enjoyed working and volunteered her time when she could.  During her life she helped build her first home for her children, she was a waitress, a head cook for the Siksika Elders Lodge, and a Life Skills Coach for the clients of the Siksika White Buffalo Centre; just to name a few.

Angela's walk with Jesus was evident to many who witnessed her and she had a profound faith that immensely showed through. Angela embraced the talents that she had and learned how to play guitar and sing the songs of praise. It brought her so much happiness to play alongside her husband Rex and share the gospel of Jesus.

Angela leaves behind her children Colin McMaster & Cheri Bouma & her grandchildren Austin Calf, Jesse Calf, Kierra BlackHorse, Nicholas Halkett, Colin Jr. McMaster, Damien Halkett, Marcus Black, Mariah Black, Desmond RunningRabbit, Serenity Bouma, Cierra Bouma, Kaiden Healy, Jaiden RunningRabbit, Nevaeh Bouma, Skylar Bouma, and her great grand-children Chante Bouma, Heavenly Bouma, Azraq Bouma, Sylas Bouma, Azaliea Bouma, Angela Bouma & many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters, Marion Bear Hat, and Lorena McMaster; her only surviving aunty, Theresa Knowlton; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; numerous adopted brothers, sons, daughters, grandchildren.

Angela will now be reunited with our family who left before Angela and whom she loved and missed so much; her husband, Rex Two Horns; Maternal grandparents James (Jim) & Alice Many Bears nee; Calf; Paternal grandparents, Albert & Annie McMaster nee; WaterChief. Parents, Chester McMaster & Clara Many Bears; her son, Rob Bouma; her granddaughter, Robi Bouma; her sister, Hester McMaster; her nephew, Fernando McMaster; her great-niece Aaliyah Melting Tallow; her uncles; Aloysius & Frances (Louie) Many Bears, Julius & Patricia Many Bears, Donald, Ivan, Leslie, Delbert, Douglas, Albert Jr.(Dime) and Myers McMaster; aunts,  Amelia, Sarah, Doreen, Pauline, and Catherine McMaster.  She also is predeceased by numerous aunts, uncles, great aunts, and uncles, along with numerous cousins.
