It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend Aaron Lee Stevens on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the of 42 years. He was born on December 25, 1983.
When Aaron was younger, he played hockey in Siksika. He attended school at Chief Old Sun. He later moved to Calgary, Red Deer, and eventually made his way back home to Siksika.
Aaron had a very quiet nature. You would always see him walking or biking around the townsite. Writing lyrics and poetry were his passion. He also enjoyed making music and he did compose a few songs. He was well known as A-Tre’. His favorite song was Dear Mama by Tupac.
Most recently, Aaron attended school at the Old Sun Community College. He was living at the Siksika Men's Lodge and there he made friends with his fellow residents and staff. He was also a part of the Siksika Men's Warriors program.
Aaron was always well-dressed and he took pride in keeping his appearance clean cut.
After his mom's passing, Aaron grew very close to his auntie/mom Myrna. He knew he could always turn to her for emotional support and she never turned him away.
Aaron is survived by his son, Tristan; siblings, Crysalyn Braverock, Cora Hindbull, Jason Stevens, and Chris-Anne Stimson; nephew, Brennen; stepfather, Curtis Stimson; auntie/mom, Myrna and Gerald; uncles, Bryan(Jeanette), Rocky(Ann); aunts, Jennifer(Allan) and Mary Ann; cousins, Carrie, Mickey, Nicholas, Frankin, Aquina, Donovan and Krista; great aunts, Rachel First Rider and Sylvia Grace Young ; traditional aunts, Jeanie Delaney, Flora Royal, Joyce First Rider, Mildred Backfat, great auntie Theresa (Frank) Stevens; traditional grandmother, Liz Scout; and numerous nephews and nieces. Aaron is also survived by his father, Faron Braverock and the Braverock family in Kainai.
Aaron is pre-deceased by his mother, Sharon; grandparents, Vera and Harry Stevens; uncles, Orland, Rennie, Alvin, and Neil; aunts, Alexis(Sam) and Delphine; cousins, Patrick Stevens and Clayton Medicine Traveller; paternal grandparents, Florence and Wilfred Braverock.
His families include: Stevens, Low Horn, Backfat, First Rider, Red Gun, Cutter, Yellow Old Woman, Komperdo, Braverock and Wells. The family apologizes if anyone was missed.
